Salt Lake City, UT– June 18, 2007– Purolator USA, the small-package and freight forwarding subsidiary of Canada’s largest integrated distribution services company, has announced the opening of a satellite office here, as a way to provide supply chain solutions to corporate clients in Utah and Colorado.
Purolator USA offers customers a level of customer service that is virtually unmatched in the freight forwarding industry. Each customer is assigned a Purolator “client relationship representative,” who works to understand that customer’s unique needs, and to develop personalized supply chain solutions. This service, along with Purolator’s extensive understanding of Canadian border regulations, will be of particular interest to businesses in Utah and Colorado, because of the importance of the Canadian market.
“Our presence in the Salt Lake region is a logical step for Purolator,” said John Jensen, regional manager for the western region. “This area is experiencing a high level of growth, particularly in the number of network marketing companies that have opened in recent years. These businesses have a need to get their goods across the border, and Purolator is the perfect choice to get them there.”
The Canadian economy is increasingly important to U.S. business, which in turn has been a driving factor in Purolator’s rapid growth. The Salt Lake City office is just one of several new locations the company plans to open this year. Other branch offices will open in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Raleigh-Durham and Philadelphia.
The Salt Lake Office will be headed by Major Account Executive Mark Powell, who has been charged with increasing Purolator’s presence in the Utah and Colorado markets. Powell, who recently joined Purolator after 13 years as an account executive at UPS, says that he is confident that customers in the Intermountain West will choose Purolator.
“Businesses can’t afford to take a chance on a company that doesn’t understand the Canadian market,” Powell said. “With Purolator, I am able to give my customers one-on-one attention, and address any concerns they may have about navigating the cross-border logistical issues.”
Powell also noted that he is excited to join the Salt Lake City business community. “I encourage all businesses, regardless of size or need, to get in touch with me. Businesses will be very pleased by Purolator’s extensive menu of logistics options.”
