Management Team
John T. Costanzo
President
John T. Costanzo became the President of Purolator USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Purolator Courier, Ltd., in 2001. As a member of Purolator's Courier Ltd's Executive Council, he is responsible for Purolator's $65 million U.S. forwarding and logistics business and for the development and execution of a $200 million corporate strategic plan for the U.S. market.
John has an extensive background in the distribution and logistics industry. Prior to joining Purolator, he served in a variety of roles in the TNT Post Group - a company providing global express, mail and logistics services. From 1989 to 2001, John held positions of increasing levels of responsibility, beginning with Senior Vice President of the Express Products Division and rising to President of the International Mail Division, Americas Region. John began his career at the Emery Air Freight Corporation, where from 1974 to 1989 he worked in a range of positions in Sales, Marketing , and as Senior Vice President and General Manager.
John is married with three children and earned a B.A. from Queens College, New York. He serves as president of the Express Delivery & Logistics Association, and serves as a member of the Conference Board's Executive Council. He also serves as a Director of the Long Island Philharmonic and has served as the chairman of the Notre Dame Elementary School board.
Conal E. Finnegan
Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development
Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development, Conal E. Finnegan, is responsible for determining the company’s long-term business development strategy, and oversees the implementation of key initiatives such as Global Connections that will expand Purolator USA’s range of services.
Prior to this appointment, Conal served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he provided executive leadership to the company’s sales and marketing teams. In that position, he was responsible for ensuring that revenue targets were consistently met, and that marketing efforts were aligned with long-term strategic goals.
Conal has been with Purolator USA since 1994, the year the company was established. Prior to that, he served as a regional sales manager for Purolator Courier Ltd. in Canada. Conal has completed executive management courses at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and received his undergraduate degree from Carleton University.
Conal lives in the Chicagoland area with his wife, Allison, and their four daughters. From coaching soccer to cheering at various sporting events, he is active in the girls' busy lives. An avid golfer and traveler, Conal also finds time to serve as an active member of the St. Anne community.
John J. Sweeney
Vice President of Field Sales & Service Quality
Purolator USA's Vice President of Field Sales & Service Quality, John J. Sweeney, is responsible for assuring overall service quality while enhancing client relationships. John joined Purolator USA in 2004 and spearheads initiatives to constantly improve the company's operational efficiencies while boosting client acquisition and retention.
One such initiative, the Account Executive (AE) program, is part of Purolator's efforts to move beyond the typical client and customer service arrangement. Purolator's AE's add another dimension to customer support, serving as the primary points-of-contact and service partners on customer accounts. In the last year, John has also assumed responsibility for Field Sales, one of the company's new business development teams, with coast-to-coast coverage of the United States.
A leader by example, John is recognized as an outstanding trainer and motivator with the ability to instill a sense of ownership and commitment in personnel – qualities that translate directly into employee pride, best service and higher client satisfaction levels.
John has an extensive background in management and labor relations with over 25 years of experience in the transportation, distribution and logistics field.
John Jensen
Director of Sales
John Jensen was appointed to the newly created director of sales position in July 2007. In this new position, John has direct responsibility for the company's overall sales operations, including setting and establishing sales objectives, training and development of Purolator's expanding sales force, and development and implementation of sales initiatives.
John brings to his new role a strong background in both field and national sales. He has been with Purolator USA since 2000, most recently as regional manager in our Seattle-based western region. While in that position, John oversaw the company's expansion into several key U.S. markets, including the addition of a western line haul to better serve Southern California.
Customers have long been impressed by John's engaging, positive style. He has an appealing "let's get it done" approach to problems and is an inclusive, collaborative leader. John is well positioned to lead Purolator USA's sales team as it continues its impressive rate of growth throughout the U.S.
John and his wife Shea are the parents of two boys, ages 2 and 4. John is an avid waterskier, boater and runner. And true to his Pacific Northwest roots, he is a graduate of Portland State University, and an avid Oregon Ducks fan.
Sean T. Kelly
Director of Finance & Administration
As Director of Finance and Administration at Purolator USA , Sean Kelly is responsible for all aspects of the company's finance function including controllership, financial planning and analysis, as well as corporate administration functions.
Prior to joining Purolator USA in 2004, Sean served as AVP & Accounting Manager at Mellon Human Resources & Investor Solutions (Mellon), an organization with revenues in excess of $1 billion. In this role, Sean oversaw the accounting function, including internal and external audit compliance.
Sean has held various auditing positions with KPMG LLP and Long Island Savings Bank, experience that has given him a strong background in accounting and regulatory policy. Sean received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Dowling College.
Michael H. Locke
Director of Transportation Solutions
Michael H. Locke joined the Purolator USA team as Director of Transportation Solutions in 2004. An industry veteran with 35 years experience in domestic and international freight delivery, Mike oversees the company's Air and Ground linehaul services and is also responsible for the development of IT solutions that support the company's operations.
Mike has over 15 years experience in the operations-focused design and implementation of technical solutions for service delivery and enhancement at the corporate level. Additionally, he has worked closely with many clients to develop transportation solutions customized to their specific needs.
Mike and his wife Lynn, a first grade teacher, have four grown children. Rumored to be a prototypical “Chicago Super Fan”, Mike is an avid reader who enjoys golf, travel and personal computing. Mike is active in his community, having served as a Little League coach, soccer referee and as a Director of “Odyssey of the Mind,” a competitive problem solving program in his local school district. Mike is a graduate of Lawrence University and holds a BA degree in Economics.
Arturo Medina
Director of Marketing and Client Relations
As Director of Marketing and Client Relations, Arturo Medina is responsible for the company’s client acquisition and retention strategies including client relations management, marketing communications, lead generation, market research, brand strategy, PR/advertising and pricing.
A keen customer advocate, Arturo is the executive sponsor of Purolator's Customer Advisory Council, a collaborative forum designed to align the company's supply chain solutions with customers' business objectives and challenges.
Arturo joined the company in 1996 as a Major Account Executive with an entrepreneurial background and international business expertise. As a Regional Manager, he oversaw development of Purolator USA's Eastern territory from $0 - $7 million in sales over the course of three years. He served as the company's International Business Development Manager before stepping into his current role.
Arturo has a degree in International Business Administration and Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. He is fluent in Spanish, Italian and French.
Bruce Dimler
Manager of Information Technology, Purolator USA
Bruce Dimler was appointed manager of information technology in November 2007. In this new position, Bruce provides strategic leadership for the company's information technology function. Few areas of the freight forwarding industry are changing as rapidly as technology, where innovations seem to occur on a daily basis. With Bruce's creativity and experience, Purolator USA is able to maximize technological advances to better serve customers.
Prior to joining Purolator USA, Bruce was employed by Cablevision, CFS Bank and by American Express. Bruce is located in the Jericho, NY headquarter facility, and reports directly to Purolator USA President John Costanzo.
Bruce is a native of Mineola, NY. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, biking and lifting weights.
Micheline Messler
Manager of Human Resources
Micheline Messler joined Purolator USA as the company's Manger of Human
Resources. Results-driven, with over ten year's experience in her field,
Micheline is focused on developing HR programs that foster employee
development and link with business successes.
Since her inception, Ms. Messler has overseen Purolator USA's transition to a
new benefits program. In addition, she is responsible for day-to-day management
of the company's compensation, performance management and succession plans. She
also champions the company's efforts to be recognized as a "Great Place to Work"
by the Great Place to Work Institute.
Micheline is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and the
Long Island Compensation Association. In her spare time, Micheline serves as a
Committee Chairperson with the Boy Scouts of America.
